Sadaqatun Jariyya (continuous charity) describes an endowment that people benefit from, with perpetual dividends accruing to, whoever invests in or help with, such an endowment. This concept underscores the mutually beneficial relationship between the donor community and the receiver community.

Supporting an orphan or providing drinkable water by sinking a well for a village without running water, for example, will continue to yield perpetual dividend in the form of goodwill to everyone who helps in the project. So is helping to build a school or renovate one, helping a child to acquire beneficial knowledge, planting a tree to stop erosion & conserve the environment or a fruit-bearing tree for charitable enjoyment.
